Big Time Rush Sells Out Ascend Amphitheater
Big Time Rush, a band created by the Nickelodeon TV show of the same title, recently began their tour which brings every song from every episode to life. Costars Steven Glickman (Gustavo) and Katelyn Tarver (Jo Taylor) from the show joined them. Nashville was the second date of the tour.
Stephen Glickman played a beautiful array of covers, including the one that made him viral on TikTok and lead to his upcoming album, Crazy by Charles Barkley. He brought a unique touch to songs like Driver’s License by Olivia Rodrigo and Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan. Formerly playing his assistant on the TV show, Tanya Chisholm joined him on stage for The Climb by Miley Cyrus and fans effectively went wild.
Katelyn Tarver greeted fans with a big smile and shirt that read Stream #1, which was her song released that day. Katelyn performed beautiful songs and opened up about going through divorce and how her writing had reflected that. Despite being all smiles, her music conveyed her emotions and passion to the audience.
Big Time Rush took the stage to the TV theme song, with fans screaming and cheering all over the packed amphitheater. Offering a unique VIP experience, the first three songs featured a small crowd on the side of the stage, which the band interacted with. They brought out Stephen Glickman and performed a few solo songs on piano, and watching them interact together was like watching their same dynamic from the TV show. Halfway through their set, they left the stage and walked through the audience and played a few songs in front of the lawn crowd. For being a huge band, they put on one of the most audience-forward performances despite being in a massive amphitheater. When they were done performing in the back, they each chose the girl they’d bring to the stage to perform Worldwide to, sitting down four girls, telling their story, and singing to them. You could see the joy on their faces as the band created a special moment for them. True to the name, they performed every song from the TV show, with the fans screaming their lungs out to the lyrics every time. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that brought joy to the entire crowd as they created something truly unique and special. They brought to life a performance that needs to be witnessed live.
