Chasing Riddick

Chasing Riddick by Alexandra St Pierre

Chasing Riddick is, as of now, my top read of 2025. I went into the book blind, unsure of what to expect beyond tears, and I found a beautiful story that’ll stick with me and haunt me forever in the best way possible.

Finn is an adrenaline junkie who doesn’t feel fear. When he hears about a killer beach with massive waves, he moves to the town to train to surf the crazy waves. He meets Riddick, our grumpy MMC who agrees to train him, not wanting to see someone die to the waves...again. Turns out, the house Finn bought belonged to a surfing legend who died on that same beach.

The connection between the main characters was there even without the intense sexual charge. I loved watching them grow and develop on this emotional journey and felt connected to them the entire time. While it is an unconventional happily ever after, and an intense emotional ride, I’d recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Just make sure to grab the tissues before you start your journey.
